The Wedding photographer and Choosing a wedding photographer

It may seem strange for us to give you a guide to choosing your wedding photographer but we feel that it gives you confidence in the knowledge that your wedding will be covered by a professional photographer providing you with the service and photos you require.

Perhaps the best way of selecting a wedding photographer is by recommendation, most of our bookings we receive are from people that have used us before! Once you have the photographers name you can look them up and make a time to meet them. You would really want see previous weddings taken by that particular photographer, this is also an opportunity to build a relationship with your photographer before the wedding in that way, neither of you would be strangers to each other on the day of the wedding and you'll be more relaxed in front of the camera.

Most of the bride & grooms questions end up on prices, Our wedding photo packages are very reasonable but we believe that there are more important issues to consider to consider some of the more important questions such as:

1. Has the wedding photographer been to the location previously? if we have not been to your venue we will view it prior to the wedding

2. How long has the photographer been shooting wedding's

3. How long do you expect to be with us on the day of the wedding? Beginning at what time? Until when? Is there an extra charge if the wedding photography runs a little over planned?

4. Whom is included in the photographs? Where and when would they be taken? Choosing the right setting for the photos will help ensure you receive the photographs you expect!

5. See a whole wedding album, not just the best photographs from a hundred weddings! Ask to see a complete coverage of a single wedding.

When looking through the album, evaluate the work by placing yourself in the position that this could have been your wedding photo's. Ask yourself if the photographer has actually considered the individual characteristics and personality of each of the important persons in the photographs. Has the photographer caught the individual's actual feelings of the moment, or are these just pictures of people standing and looking self-conscious. Do they look natural? Or even better than real? And, in fact, is that what you and they really want? How about asking the photographer to look at your face to see if he/she would know how to achieve the most flattering images of you:

6. How did you get qualified to take professional wedding pictures? What kind of educational background and/or experience have you had in developing your wedding photography techniques?

7. Other things we should consider would be how quickly can our photographs be ready, How can people who live out of town be accommodated with ordering, paying and delivery?  The Wedding Photo Company offer a great way to order your wedding photography online through photoselection.co.uk. We also offer a digital printing service just encase your you require any adjustment to your photos

8. What are the costs and differences of the various styles of coverage? do you offer reportage, black and white photography, sepia prints?

9. How much for the extras? Ask to see the style's of wedding album's available?

10. If there are more photographs than anticipated can I upgrade my photo package after the day?

11. How long have you been established? How long do you plan on staying in the business? In other words, what kind of guarantee comes with my hiring you and/or your company?

A few topics of conversation that could help you make your decision.

12. What would you plan to do at my wedding that would make my wedding photographs unique and personal to me? Can we choose you who we want in the pictures?

13. Will I be dealing with the same photographer after the wedding?

14. What's the payment policy? Do you give any guarantees on your services and photographs? we take only a deposit prior to the wedding, the balance is paid on delivery, there are many companies including a large national wedding business that insist on full payment prior to the wedding, we are sure that you will be choosing a wedding photographer in us, whose work you will be so delightfull you will be just itching to pay on delivery of your previews

15. Find out the photographer's policy if the date of your wedding is changed. If we can book another wedding in place of a booking that is cancelled we can give a full refund

16. What if the photographer can not make the day? At the Wedding Photo Company we do our best to ensure we have a back up photographer on the day.

17 The Negatives. After you have finished choosing your photographs for the album we sell the wedding negatives to you, the maximum cost is £150

At the Wedding Photo Company, after you have met the wedding photographer and you're convinced that the packages and service we offer are worth the price...then make the commitment and rest assured that this is undoubtedly one of the best and most intelligent decisions you've made in planning your wedding! In short make sure you book a professional photographer

How much should we spend on our wedding photography?

It's difficult to pay too much for something you really like. Yet, price is usually the one obstacle that prevents many wedding clients from selecting the package the really want, often the difference between the price of the photo package you really like and the one who you feel is "within the budget" is miscalculated.

"Easy for you to say" I hear you cry When wedding plans come down to pounds and pence, it's hard to keep spending "a little bit more here...and a little bit more there. But hey! your wedding photographs are the only thing you have after the day has passed, some people still feel that they have to put the money "where it shows".

We would like you to remember the wedding day in its glory, not missing a thing, our reportage packages cover this, The Gold package's start at £ 1400 and using two wedding photographers so not to miss a thing, this may seem expensive to some but for this service another wedding photographer could easily charge £2000 or more, however many of you however may feel this seems bit much, we offer packages starting at £210 for 12 photo's, most of our customers would generally book between 36 and 60 pictures with the most popular size's being 8x6 and 10x8.

When considering the cost of a photographer, you may find that studios sometimes need to charge extra make up for closing on the Saturday afternoon, you may think you paying for a better photographer when in your really paying for the studio to closed we our Wedding Photographers only!

You may like to consider that at the same time you're preparing your budget, you will probably like to spend extra money for wedding albums and photograph's for your families. In any case, you're probably going to spend more than you originally planned, but you'll be doing it because we hope you like the pictures so much!, The bottom line, as you know, is not necessarily how much you end up spending on photographs. Instead, it's how much pleasure you get from them over the years.
Wouldn't you agree, that at a time as important as your wedding day, it's better to invest a little more money for photography than you had planned...instead of a little less than you should?
